13.1.10

Sad news today.
This project is stopping here and the domain commentback.org will be discontinued before the end of January 2010.

I thought was a good idea to give back the comments to the original content source, but finally I proved I was wrong.
Maybe I was not great comunicator, maybe I didn't put enough time in this, maybe today the comments are "The Value" for the various social networks and web services around the net and they are not so inclined to give them back.
We'll (probably) never know. ;-)

I'll move everything on a subdomain of my personal site for future reference.

Thanks to everyone has been involved in this.

I've posted the following question to the "Ask Matt" poll, let's see if it will be picked up.

In these days of spreading of comments around all the social networks, what do you think about a protocol aimed to give back comments to the original content source like the one described here?
http://www.commentback.org

Do tou think it will do the trick? Does this protocol have a chance to be widely adopted?
Thanks!

More info about the "Ask Matt" here.

9.5.09

Added the "How to Help?" page.

We've made a new design for our site, using the new Evinrude CMS.

Thanks 000webhost.com for the free hosting and Shea Media for the original graphic.
I hope to give new spreading to this project in the next weeks.
Stay tuned.

24.3.09

Just pinging: this project is not dead.
I'm currently reading here and there about how the social networks are killing blogs' comments.
Read the spec, help us improve it and spread the word. I think this could be really a good solution to the problem.

27.8.08

The site (with the same graphic) has been reorganized.

The way I decided to follow from the beginning has given less results than expected.
So I'm changing the route: no more mails sent to probably interested web sites (except a couple that are already on the path), but a more practical approach.

News to follow more or less soon.

21.7.08

First message sent to socialmedian.

First mail sento to Plaxo.

16.7.08

The LiveJournal Suggestion Mantainer has responded to my message pointing me directly to another person. Mail sent.
